Fletaro vs Quartix: Clean GPS vs Full Operational Stack

Quartix is efficient SME GPS but stays in the GPS layer. When Fletaro fits better if you need bookings, remote unlock or digital signature.
Quartix in Spain: what it offers and what it costs
Quartix operates in the UK, France, US and Spain, focused on SME fleets up to 100 vehicles. Core product: Quartix GPS device installed by technician, QuartixNet web platform and a driver mobile app. Indicative pricing: €19-25/vehicle/month depending on volume and plan plus hardware purchased (€130-180/unit upfront). Standard 36-month contract with extension option. Spanish-language support operated from the Iberian office.
Fletaro vs Quartix: feature comparison
Real-time GPS: both. Geofences and alerts: both. Driver scoring: Quartix yes (mature), Fletaro yes. Remote door unlock: Fletaro only (via CAN-CONTROL, 1,300+ models). Remote engine immobilizer: Fletaro only. Booking management: Fletaro only. AI ID verification: Fletaro only. Digital contract signature: Fletaro only. Automatic fine management: Fletaro only. Redsys integration: Fletaro only. Hardware model: Quartix one-time purchase, Fletaro included in fee. Commitment: Quartix 36 months, Fletaro 18 months. Language: both Spanish. Currency: both euros.
The Quartix model: hardware purchase + 36-month subscription
Quartix sells the GPS device as a one-time purchase (€130-180/unit) and then charges monthly software subscription (€19-25/vehicle). This is attractive in CAPEX-OPEX terms if you'll have the vehicle for many years and want to amortize the hardware. The flip side: if you reduce fleet or replace vehicles early, the purchased hardware stays with you (with sunk cost) and the subscription must be canceled under 36-month contract terms.
What Quartix doesn't cover for car rental and modern fleets
Quartix is a pure GPS and telematics product. Its model assumes each vehicle has a regular driver with keys and that the manager monitors. It's not designed for the business end-customer (a car rental customer, a temporary corporate carsharing driver) to access the vehicle autonomously. This rules out the unattended model: for 24/7 office-less operation, Quartix alone is not enough.
When Quartix makes sense and when Fletaro does
Quartix makes sense if: your fleet is 5-50 commercial or service vehicles (mobile workshops, field technicians, sales reps) that only need GPS + driver scoring + basic reports; you value upfront hardware purchase over an integrated fee; your team is comfortable with a simple product without extras; you accept the 36-month contract.
